At the bottom of a frozen lake lie April's husband along with his snowmobile, unable to be retrieved until the spring thaw. She's determined to grit her teeth and ignore reality, even though the whole town can see she needs to find peace. It will take a force of nature to make April face the truth.

Emilie Silvestri is a filmmaker whose love for visual storytelling has led her around the world; she lived in Japan and subsequently in Singapore, where she pursued her Graduate Film MFA at New York University Tisch School of the Arts Asia. During this time she directed several short films and projects in addition to working as cinematographer on short films shot in Singapore, Japan, the Philippines, China, Guatemala, Norway and the United States. Her work has screened at international film festivals across the world. Her first narrative short, TEINEN, was shot on location in Tokyo and premiered at Aspen ShortsFest. Originally from New York City, she splits her time between there and Washington DC, where she works on narrative and documentary films, television, and branded content. She is currently in post-production for her graduation thesis film, APRIL IN WINTER, which was shot in the North Woods of Maine this past February. APRIL IN WINTER recently won the Gold Circle Award for Best Student Film from the Caucus Foundation for Directors & Writers in Los Angeles.
