Spring 2021

February 11 | Curricular Development Minigrants Info Session

In alignment with the School’s ongoing commitment to Diversity & Inclusion, the Office of Faculty will invite spring term proposals for new courses that center the intersection of new technologies/art forms and underrepresented artists and perspectives (BiPOC, trans, dis/ability, neurodiversity, etc.). How might new technologies enable these artists to tell new kinds of stories?

Applications will require the endorsement of the Department Chair, with the understanding that if approved, a good faith effort will be made to offer the new course at the earliest opportunity.

The deadline for applications is 5:00pm (EDT) Wednesday,  February 24, 2021.  Awardees will be notified by 5:00pm (EDT) Friday, March 19, 2021. Please look for the application email that will be sent on February 10.

WHEN: Thursday, February 11, 2021 | 11am-12pm.

February 12 | Inclusive Teaching Workshop, led by OGI

Foundations of Inclusive Teaching @ Tisch

Inclusive teaching is a topic that has gained increased attention nationally over the last several years, but what is it exactly and how might it shape the teaching and learning environment at Tisch? Please join us for a workshop for Tisch faculty on the foundations of inclusive teaching, where we will explore key principles of inclusive teaching and the urgency of this topic for the NYU community. In this session, we will consider strategies for reaching all learners through intentional and inclusive course design and classroom practices. Engaging with scholarship on active learning, metacognition, and assessment, participants will reflect on their current teaching practices and create an action plan for integrating active and inclusive techniques into their classrooms to create meaningful opportunities for student engagement and to enable all of their students to succeed.

The workshop will be led by Dr. Chandani Patel, Director for Global Diversity Education within the Office of Global Inclusion, Diversity, and Strategic Innovation (OGI).
