STEINHARDT GLOBAL AFFAIRS TRIP TO UGANDA

STEINHARDT GLOBAL AFFAIRS TRIP TO UGANDA

Dual Graduate MFA and MA Degree

Created as a partnership between NYU Steinhardt and NYU Tisch School of the Arts, this highly innovative graduate program combines intensive study in dance technique, theory, and composition in a renowned conservatory setting with performance and choreography opportunities and student teaching placements in New York City schools. You'll be prepared to not only launch your career as a professional dancer, but also gain certification to teach dance to students in pre-K to grade 12, as well as the qualification to teach in colleges and universities.

MFA's Dozje Brown, Aminta Remisosky, and Anne Marie Smock joined Steinhardt's Global Affairs Trip to Uganda.

Learning how to teach, create, and perform dance and to build community – through the lens of another culture. Students collaborated with professional dancers, educators, and students from the Royal Ballet Academy and local universities in Kampala. These students had the oppurtunity to take classes in traditional Ugandan dance, East African drumming, and teaching methodology, and then implement lesson plans with children from local orphanages and other community-based organizations.
