Fin Hatfield is a 2nd-year Master's student at New York University's Moving Image Archiving and Preservation (MIAP) program. With a profound interest in the fields of pre-cinema, analog audiovisual media, and disaster recovery, Fin Hatfield's research and academic pursuits encompass a broad spectrum of topics within the field of media preservation and archiving. Prior to joining MIAP, Fin completed a Master's degree in history, specializing in the study of Lapierre magic lanterns. This background equipped Fin with a unique perspective on the early visual media landscape, and they are dedicated to bridging the gap between historical media practices and contemporary preservation methodologies.
