My internship at the Paley Center for media focused on processing 30 episodes of Ralph McDaniels' Video Music Box collection. Video Music Box for the past 30 years has provided a home for emerging and established hip-hop artists to showcase their work. I worked mostly with 3/4" U-matic tapes. There were a few moldy tapes that I could not process. I learned how to archive a collection from beginning to end; selection and acquistion process, registration and cataloguing, cleaning, digitizing and reformatting, and transcribing and uploading content to the server and database.
