Samantha Oddi, Smithsonian Institution - Human Studies Film Archive, Summer 2010, NEH
The HSFA is part of the Institution’s anthropology department and collects and preserves ethnographic audio, video, and films. Samantha Oddi spent her summer completing diverse tasks such as cataloging and inspecting film collections, creating video access copies, and doing research on the content of the collection which she documented in finding aids and reported on through the Museum’s blog. Through this internship, Samantha learned about film restoration and about different audio formats, and she also learned about how a small archive functions within the context of a large institution.
