Miles Levy, WNYC New York Public Radio, Spring 2018, NEH
At WNYC New York Public Radio, I learned how to transfer analog audio formats to digital using Adobe Audition CC. 1/4" open-reel tapes, lacquer and vinyl discs, compact cassettes, and DBX 700 were all formats which I digitized. I learned how to catalog a collection of audio tapes using Microsoft Excel. I learned how to equalize for analog to digital audio transfers using the TimeStep equalizer. I learned how to clean lacquer discs using a Keith Monks cleaning device. I was able to transfer over 35 hours of analog materials and catalog a collection of over 500 open-reel tapes.

Miles Levy interned at WNYC New York Public Radio in Spring 2018.
