This fall, I received an Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences grant for work in film preservation. The work for this grant focused specifically on the films of Paul Sharits, whose collection is housed at Anthology Film Archives in New York City. Sharits was a well-known avant-garde filmmaker, painter and teacher who passed away in 1993 at the age of 50.
