GBH Archives

My time at GBH was split between two projects. The main project was to capture this large collection of CDs onto a computer along with compiling relevant information. The CDs were from WUWM, a public radio station from Milwaukee. The second project was developing AV-analysis through an AI software known as CLAMS (Computational Linguistics Applications for Multimedia Services). In this program I was identifying what type of text was in a video frame, to help train the system to know what kind of words are being displayed in an given video frame. There was also one last thing that I worked on and learned from which was not originally planned, and still happened unfortunately, but that was the mass defunding of public radio this summer. I had the opportunity to part of many meetings about plans for the future and how GBH could help those less fortunate. Obviously nobody here wanted this, but it was informative to see how a massive organization like GHB performs under pressure.

I had a great and informative time working at GBH this summer and I hope to meet some of those people again in the future.
