Yale Film Archives

Over this summer I had the opportunity to work at Yale Film Archive under the supervision of managing archivist, Brian Meacham. Upon arriving on the first day, I was off and running inspecting film prints which had just arrived at Yale. This new acquisition happened to have come from the personal collection of James Ivory - who I had just happened to meet in the Advanced topics in Video Preservation Course at MIAP. There were around twenty titles that added up to over a hundred reels altogether and Brian asked if I would like to begin that inspection process. Nearing the end of the project, I can happily say that every print besides one has been fully inspected and cataloged. Each one had its own unique issues but altogether I was lucky to get to work on such a stellar and unique collection. Meacham was a fantastic supervisor who never made me feel embarrassed to ask an obvious question and would always be accommodating and trusting with regards to my work at Yale Film Archive.
