Story Corps

StoryCorps is an oral history non-profit that, in partnership with The American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress, records and preserves the experience of the general public, capturing the staggeringly diverse and unique perspectives of the everyman. Since its inception in 2003, StoryCorps has remained committed to collecting and distributing oral histories across the nation in a manner that reflects the true stories of the individual with respect to how they want to portray themselves.

During my time in the Records & Archives department at StoryCorps, my tasks were to primarily manage the inspection, item-level inventory, risk assessment, and preparation for digitization of the physical audio materials located on-site. These materials in various analog and digital audio formats had mostly been unprocessed, especially the collection of 1/4" open reel audio tapes containing masters, director's cuts, and original elements recordings of several notable and award-winning StoryCorps oral histories.
