At CUNY-TV I had two collections that I worked on, the City Club of New York Umatic Tapes and the Homovisiones MiniDV tapes. With City Club I would inspect the tapes for damage before calibrating the system to the tape. Then I would digitize the tapes using v-record and capture metadata in a shared airtable. For Homovisiones the task was slightly different; I had to inspect the tapes for damage and transfer the tapes in DVRescue. The metadata for Homovisiones was captured in filemaker and also in a shared spreadsheet with another institution. Every once in awhile I would have an opportunity to help fix or clean a video deck or test out a new process with Kelly or Dave.
