No where else in the world can you find the range of disciplines in one school. Over the last 50 years as we forged new programs, built our home in New York and expanded to our global academic centers, institutes emerged. Each are built with shared values, common goals, and a priority for putting students first. The result – a place where artists and scholars create the future.

Since 2008 the Moving Image Archiving and Preservation Program (MIAP) has worked with international archives through the Audiovisual Preservation Exchange (APEX). By promoting collaboration and academic dialogue on film and media preservation, MIAP students, faculty, and alumni have mutually shared knowledge and expertise with hosting countries, generating a unique and vibrant network of archivists, scholars, artists, film enthusiasts, collectors, and students in countries such as Ghana, Argentina, Colombia, Uruguay, Chile, Spain, Brazil and Puerto Rico. Over the years, APEX has become a model of cooperation that is currently inspiring similar initiatives in academic and non-academic communities.
This retrospective will showcase short films, clips, and promotional materials from APEX collaborations in those countries. It will also be an opportunity to acknowledge APEX sponsors, benefactors, collaborators and the amazing work of NYU participants and hosting institutions.
Free and open to the public. A reception will follow.
