Bills + Balm: Navigating Financial and Creative Sustainability

Arts Politics alumni will share stories about their personal and professional journeys. They will discuss the practical, imaginative, and unexpected ways they have navigated both financial and creative sustainability through their time immediately following graduation into our current pandemic context.

Featured Alumni:

Lauren Nixon '10 is a facilitator, project and operations manager, educator, and trainer who has worked across the realms of racial equity, sustainability, and food equity. She has worked with innovative organizations including The Moriah Group, The Democracy Collaborative, Institute for Public Health Innovation, The National Collaborative for Health Equity, FoodCorps, and Get HYPE! Philly. Lauren resides in Durham, NC.

Aisha Jordan '11 (She/Her/Hers) is an Actor, Writer and Producer with a B.A. in The Arts and Writing from The New School and an M.A. in Arts and Politics from NYU Tisch. She was recently awarded NYFA's Made In New York Women's Fund for web series #HashtagTheShow. Aisha is also co-host of entertainment podcast 2Nerds and an Actor. Her writing and work is informed by her experience as a woman of color and her passions for comedy, and social justice.

Tiffany Fung '16 is the Impact Producer of Sonova, the communication arm of Social Ventures Hong Kong. Tiffany’s work centers on creating transformation through impact storytelling, social innovation education and experience curation. With a multi-disciplinary background, Tiffany hopes to bring her experience in the arts, filmmaking and community organizing to the impact space.

Jane Yonge '19 is a creative catalyst at Te Taumata Toi-a-Iwi. In this role she facilitates sector engagement, builds collaborative partnerships, and leads the design and development of strategic initiatives. Currently, Jane is collaborating on a five article series on innovation within New Zealand's arts and culture sector. Jane is also a theatre director and creator. In March 2021, she presented "Scenes From A Yellow Peril", by Nathan Joe, at the Auckland Arts Festival 2021, and "Save the Dragon or Slay the Dragon or Neither" in the Wellington Fringe Festival. She is currently directing a new play, "Another Mammal" by Jo Randerson, opening on May 8. Jane holds a Master of Theatre Arts in Directing from Victoria University and Toi Whakaari: NZ Drama School, and a Masters in Arts Politics from New York University: Tisch School of the Arts on a Fulbright scholarship.
