What drew you to the MA Arts Politics program?
The program brought together social justice and the arts in a way that connected so well with my goals and passions in life. School had never been a big thing for me and I had decided not to go to grad school but when I read the basis behind the program and the political focus I had to apply.
How did your experience in the program shape your work?
The program shaped everything in my life. I have a strong group of friends who are activists/artists and academic geniuses who support each other and all of our endeavors due to the work we accomplished in the Arts and Politics program. Although the goal is for my artistry is to provide 100% of my income the program has allowed me to pursue jobs that directly intersect with my goals as an artist.
What are you doing now?
I am a freelance event producer and artist and am actively pursuing an acting career. I run my own social justice theater company that is based out of Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York which uses theater arts to express personal experiences with social issues through collaboratively created original works.
