Future Artists

Wednesday, Mar 29, 2017

Future Artists is a free high school program that takes place at NYU Tisch School of the Arts on Saturdays February through May. We have eight departments represented thought Future Artists: Cinema Studies, Dance, Drama, Dramatic Writing, Film and Television, Game Design, Photography and Imaging and Recorded Music.

Every year as part of our Future Artists program, we have a special luncheon for the students, faculty, and parents of our current Future Artists. This past Saturday was certainly a festive event. We were served a delicious lunch at the Rosenthal Pavilion at the Kimmel Student Center. Dean Sheril Antonio started the afternoon with an inspiring keynote about higher education in the arts. Faculty member and Future Artist alum, Chris Chan Roberson spoke about his personal experience with the program. Patricia Decker, Director of Recruitment for the Tisch School of the Arts then led a session on the college admission process. There were a LOT of great questions afterwards from both students and parents. It was such a fun event, and some of the anxiety around the college admission process was hopefully relieved for these enthusiastic families.
