Stanislavsky, Brecht and Beyond: An Integrated Approach to Contemporary Actor Training in Berlin Information Session

Tisch School of the Arts Undergraduate Department of Drama Professor Kevin Kuhlke will lead an information session to introduce Stanislavsky, Brecht and Beyond: An Integrated Approach to Contemporary Actor Training in Berlin, a one-semester spring 2016 program in theater and actor training for advanced drama students offered in conjunction with faculty from the world renowned Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts, The Berlin University of the Arts, The internationally acclaimed Berlin Schaubuhne as well as guest faculty including Kristin Linklater (voice), Paul Binnerts (Real Time Acting) and Karelmaria DeBoeck (Commedia).

The undergraduate program in Berlin is open to NYU and visiting college students. The program will focus on the study and practical application of aspects of German theatre including the integration of the Russian based Stanislavsky Method of Physical Actions with Brecht’s Epic Theater, Advanced Realistic scene study, Real Time Acting, Brecht scene study, Devised theater, Post Dramatic Theater, movement, voice and rigorous actor oriented Dramaturgical research. You will attend productions, participate in the international FIND Festival and the program will culminate with workshop performances of several short plays by Brecht.
