Hamad Al-Tourah
Hamad Al-Tourah is a Kuwaiti-American writer, director, and editor based in New York. He received his B.A. in Cinema Studies, Media Criticism, and Middle Eastern Studies from New York University and his Masters in Film and Television production from Tisch School of the Arts, Asia. He currently works as a writer, director, and editor at HardPin Media, creating content and campaigns for clients such as the Democratic National Convention and Committee, Secretary of Interior Deb Haaland, Instagram, Buzzfeed, TEDx, Swarovski, Warner Music Group, Vital Voices, and the United Nations.
His short film, Playtime, was awarded a production grant from the Doha Film Institute and went on to premiere at the Dubai International Film Festival, where it was nominated for Best Arab Short. Among other festivals, the film also screened at the Palm Springs International Shortfest and won Best Short Film at the San Francisco International Festival of Short FIlms.
Hamad is currently in development on his first feature film, Passports, which was workshopped at the Doha Film Institute’s Hezayah Screenwriting Lab.
