Spring Future Artists Application Requirements

Please read the following admissions information before starting your online application. You may be contacted for an audition or additional application materials. You can find important dates on the Tisch Special Programs Admissions Calendar.

STEP 1: CONFIRM YOUR ELIGIBILITY

REQUIREMENT CRITERIA
Academics
  • You must a current freshman, sophomore or junior in high school. 
  • High school seniors are not eligible.
  • There is no minimum GPA requirement.
  • You cannot apply to a track you have previously participated in. 
Committment
  • This program requires a 14-week commitment on Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET (hours vary by department but will fall within this time). 
  • You must be available for the entire duration of the program. Students who miss class for any reason may be dismissed from the program.
  • This a collaborative, rigorous, and competitive program so your presence is keenly felt. You should arrive ready to absorb, challenge, and internalize what is being offered.

STEP 2: PREPARE YOUR APPLICATION

Online Application

  • You must submit an online application form.
  • Please type your name exactly as it appears on your birth certificate/passport in your application and supporting documents. 
Written Responses
  • You must answer 2 questions. The prompt for Part A is the same for all tracks, and the prompt for Part B is specific for your chosen track (i.e. Dancers, Filmmakers, etc.)
Creative Resume
  • This résumé should showcase your training, awards, projects, community service, and work experience, whether in or outside of school.
  • You may also include URL links to your online media (i.e. video, music, photography, etc.)
Transcript
  • Upload a copy of your transcript in PDF format. Your transcript must display your full name, school/institution, courses, and grades for every year that you have been in high school.
  • Homeschooled Applicants: Please have your parent/guardian in charge of your homeschooling provide a document detailing your coursework and academic achievement.
English Language Proficiency
  • Required if English is not your native language. 
  • You are exempt from this requirement if (at the time of your application submission), you have completed three (3) or more full-time consecutive academic years in a curriculum where the only language of instruction was English.

Recommendations
  • In the application portal, please enter the names and email addresses of one (1) recommender. Once you submit their information, they will be sent instructions via email. Please give your reference 1-2 weeks to complete their recommendation.
  • Your recommendation should be from someone who is familiar with your interest and experience in the arts.
  • We will only accept references from the following: 
    • High school representative
    • Community group leader
    • Mentor
    • Coach

STEP 3: SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION

Application
  • Fill out the online application form here.
  • After submitting the form, you will receive an email with next steps to finalize your account and complete you application.
Deadline
  • All applications must be completed and submitted by the application deadline.

STEP 4: REVIEW YOUR ADMISSIONS DECISION

Notification
  • Notifications are communicated via email to the primary email address used for the application.
Confirmation
  • If accepted, you will be required to confirm or decline your participation.
  • Please confirm your participation by the deadline found in your acceptance letter.
