On Liking It Hard: Thinking Queerly About Dangerous Work

Description of Project

Performances that enact stark ethical dilemmas may also be called unethical. Using Nietzsche and contemporary queer theory, how can we reconsider the the morals of performance, in particular questioning why, when so much of contemporary performance engages with queer alterity, it replicates and demands the moral subject of the liberal democratic state? Whither non-normativity? This talk makes the case – and tries to make space — for those who like work that hits a little different.
