Arianna Martinez

Arianna Nicole Martínez Burgos is a Performance Studies major minoring in Business of Entertainment, Media and Technology with a passion for music and a focus in vocal performance, piano, songwriting, and theater. As a music maker and artistic collaborator, Arianna hopes to pursue a career within the entertainment industry and the field of performing arts. Arianna began her practices in music at an early age by learning how to play piano from her father and later attended the Conservatory of Music in Santurce. This led her to go further into practices by training as a classical vocal artist and later went on to musical theater where she was introduced to jazz music. Arianna continues her practices as a vocal artist focusing on spanish boleros and jazz as well as new experimental spanish music.

Description of Capstone Project

Arianna will be doing an artist review on Rosalia Vila Tobella, a Spanish singer-songwriter who is known for her background in flamenco music as well as her fusion of different genres that create an experimental sound. The review consists of three performances Malamente, Hentai, and Saoko which will be closely examined in order to observe what specific styles the artist incorporates in her work through sound and imagery.
