Sophia King
From the age of eight, Sophia pitched TV show ideas to anyone who would listen, usually her mom to distract from homework. All that avoiding math paid off because it helped Sophia find her passion: writing children’s and young adult’s TV.
The best thing that little girl Sophia did for big adult Sophia was wearing her retainer every night. The second best thing was starting improv comedy at 13. Getting involved with Groundlings, Second City, and UCB helped teach Sophia story structure and how to make confident choices. Sophia has run sketch and improv groups for the past 7 years while taking every comedy writing class she can and working for companies like Story Pirates Changemakers to further her knowledge and involvement with children's writing. Sophia is thankful for this opportunity to have been apart of Performance Studies undergrad and hopes to have a long and happy career with two dogs and an espresso machine in her house.
