Garet Weissenborn
Performance Studies B.A. Garet Weissenborn has been awarded the Marc and Ruti Bell Public Service Scholarship. Even more exciting, Garet is the first student at Tisch to receive this award! The scholarship is highly selective and only goes to 20 students across the University annually, congratulations Garet!
Garet Weissenborn (he/him) is a third-year from Albuquerque, New Mexico, pursuing a BA in Performance Studies with a minor in Global Public Health. He aims to work in health policy with a focus on educational opportunities and comprehensive sexual education for LGBTQ+ youth. He is particularly interested in the intersection between performance and health. He hopes to merge these two in order to provide more restorative sexual and mental health resources to queer and trans youth in schools and beyond. He is currently in the process of working on a digital media campaign to provide this art-centered restorative education influenced by his own practice and learning here at Tisch School of the Arts.
The Marc and Ruti Bell Public Service Scholarship award is for second- and third-year undergraduate students at NYU who plan to pursue a career that advances the public good, and the program seeks to enable students to pursue careers in the public service sector by providing them with increased financial freedom.
