Juliet Oh

Juliet Oh was born on an island called Jeju in South Korea. She has a strong passion for women empowerment and gender equality and believes that art can contribute to achieving them. She is interested in a broad range of art, including fashion, film, painting and theatre. Her interest in fine art and fashion led her to take visual art classes in high school and to create various forms of artwork since then.

Why PS @ NYU?

When I was in high school, writing an extended essay about the gender stereotypes and social perceptions towards women shown in a film led me to become interested in performance studies, as I wanted to explore more about how art reflects and interacts with the society. I also believe that studying Performance Studies will allow me to improve myself as a better artist.
