Christiana Miller

Christiana Miller is a Performance Studies senior at NYU Tisch. Her concentrations include performance of the everyday, performance of technology, and screenwriting. Through examining the everyday and the technologies that permeate throughout our communities, Christiana is able to create and develop raw characters who exist in the midst of uncanny storylines.

Currently, Christiana is developing a work of fiction that is centered around time travel and Afro-futurism. She hopes the work will alter how we understand the sci-fi genre.

Why PS @ NYU?

Theory and practice are two components that distinguish Performance Studies from its more traditional degree bearing counterparts. The art that Performance Studies students produce has a motive and theory is the critical framework upon which their motive rests. Throughout the creative process, intent is at the forefront of these students’ minds. By providing students with a strong academic foundation, the department encourages students to fill their work with an argument that has the power to evoke change and ignite discourse. Unlike traditional majors, within Performance Studies, theory is truly put into practice.
