I am a recent graduate of Rutgers University with a Bachelor's in Theater, and a passion for the arts. I have just completed a teaching fellowship at Rutgers where I helped instruct the importance of empathy as it pertains to a character. The only way we can connect to any performance is if the actor is indeed living truthfully through imaginary circumstances, fostering empathy. The ability of Theater's inherent nature of enabling empathy helped develop my interest in Theater of the Oppressed. If we can assist others with a development empathy, we can make a difference in communities where voices are silenced. Furthermore, Theater has and always will have the potentialfor creating great change.
