Family Portrait by TUG
Collaborative Arts & Open Arts Assistant Arts Professor Gustavo Aguilar and creative partner, Gaelyn Aguilar work together as TUG; an interdisciplinary arts collective that creates contact zones where people can generate insights about, and produce actions around, contemporary social issues.
TUG partners with Devaney, Doak & Garrett Booksellers, for the release of TUG's, Who Will Care for the Dead?, an extended field of poetic thought, image, movement, and sound that traces a relationship of kinship between the unraveling body and the cycle of bereavement, isolation, and regeneration. This multi-faceted project consists of two components—a limited-edition eponymous book and a film, entitled This Part I Carry—that work adjacent to one another, the deeper implications of care and reciprocity tethering them together.
