Suirun Zhao

Suirun(Siri) Zhao is a multi-disciplinary artist who works in a wide range of areas associated with mixed-media installation, digital art, wearable product and audiovisual project. He was born and grew up in China, and is currently based in Brooklyn, New York. 

Suirun holds a BEng in Food Quality and Safety and before coming to IMA Low Res he studied Interactive Arts at Pratt Institute and also worked as a product designer in the Fintech Company. 

He is interested in new technology and uses the computer as his brush, often referencing the latest news, the newest technology, and the audience’s experience. Most of his work has a specific audience in mind. In the meantime, Suirun set the goal to combine popular culture and fine art. My methodology is consistent: I always combine the process of learning and creating, even though I employ a wide range of materials and processes in each production. I relate this wide range of varied projects by reoccurring formal issues with the subject matter.
