Jesse Yu

Jesse is an entrepreneur, director, and production designer. He graduated from IMA Low Res in 2022. Prior to this, Jesse completed a dual bachelor’s degree in Film and Television Production as well as Theatre Arts from Loyola Marymount University. Over the course of his studies and professional experience, Jesse has developed an understanding of extended reality technology and its applications in various fields, including virtual production, media arts, and education.

Originally from Taicang, China, Jesse brings a cross-cultural perspective and a passion for innovation to his work. In addition to his current role as Emerging Technologies Associate at NYU Shanghai, Jesse also serves as the founder of a commercial production company and the co-founder of a tech start-up focused on providing a platform for casting calls and talent seeking.

Jesse strives to push the boundaries of traditional industry models with technologies. His creative output is also present in events such as the SXSW, New Era Film Festival, and the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival.
