Ami Mehta
Resident Researcher
Ami (she/her) is a creative technologist, curator, and artist exploring game design, extended reality, and transmedia storytelling. As a Research Resident at ITP, Ami is examining ethnographic and ethical approaches to AR/VR. Ami is also in cohort at NEW INC, an art, design, and technology incubator led by the New Museum, where she is developing an XR production with Antariksha Studio.
In addition to consulting on strategy and planning for non-profit orgs, Ami has collaborated on exhibitions, performances, and public events for MoMA, Venice Biennale, and Grounds For Sculpture among others. Her curatorial practice connects historical and contemporary ideas about art, science, and technology through a decolonial lens.
She holds a M.A. in Art History from The Courtauld, M.P.S. in Interactive Telecommunications from NYU, and B.A. in History from NYU.
