Alumna Dee Rees is on a roll! ...She has two Emmy nominations for writing and directing 'Bessie', she's directing one of the most popular TV shows ('Empire'), and is working with Zadie Smith on an adaptation. This interview is great, as Dee gets candid about portraying issues of race on the screen.
