Grad Film Alum & Adjunct Carlo Mirabella-Davis wins Special Jury Prize

Grad Film alum and adjunct professor Carlo Mirabella-Davis recently received a special prize at the 2019 Deauville Film Festival for his film Swallow. The french film festival is held annually to acknowledge noteworthy American films.

The dramatic thriller, which Mirabella-Davis wrote and directed, follows a newly pregnant housewife increasingly compelled to consume dangerous objects. As she tries to escape the overbearing control of her husband and his family, she has to face the dark secrets behind her obsession. Swallow premiered at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival and has since then garnered considerable global recognition, including a win in the Narrative category at Provincetown International Film festival and Best Screenplay at the Fantasia Film Festival.
