Juan Pablo Daranas Molina (Juampa) is a Cuban filmmaker based in New York City.

Over a decade ago, Juampa started FILA20, one of the first independent production groups in Cuba (where independent media is banned). FILA20 has since relocated to New York City and its films have been screened in top festivals and online platforms, such as Venice, Sundance, Glasgow, Warsaw, New Orleans, Rooftop Films, HollyShorts, HBO New York Latino FF, Amazon Video, and Short of the Week. FILA20’s work also includes projects for renowned organizations like Galleria Continua, Louis Vuitton, MoMA, and The Bronx Museum of the Arts.

While at New York University's Graduate Film Program, Juampa won Spike Lee's Film Production Fund, NYU HEAR US Awards, the NYU Purple List, and was selected for the NYU Production Lab Development Studio. Juampa was also chosen for the Berlinale Talents Guadalajara and the inaugural Sony Future Filmmaker Awards.

Juampa is currently in post-production with his debut feature, DOMESTIC ANIMALS. His second feature as a writer-producer wrapped principal photography in Italy and is currently in post-production.
