Arina Vala Thordardottir is a director and cinematographer from Reykjavik, Iceland, currently based in New York City. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Cinema Studies from the University of Iceland, and is currently pursuing an MFA in Film at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. In 2020, her short documentary, “Reykjavik City Symphony” was part of the Official Selection at Reykjavik International Film Festival. She also has an extensive background in music videos, having directed and shot music videos for Icelandic artists both big and small.

In 2022, she directed two music videos who got nominated for “Music Video of the Year” at the Icelandic Listener’s Awards: “Dansa og Bánsa” for the band Inspector Spacetime, as well as “Hot Milf Summer” for the band Daughters of Reykjavik.
