Teaches Fundamentals of Stagecraft/Sound, Sound Design I, II &III

Mark Bennett is Associate Arts Professor of Sound Design and Head of Sound Design Training in the Department of Drama’s Production & Design Studio at NYU Tisch School of the Arts. He received his BA from Vassar College where he studied composition and soundscape design with Annea Lockwood. He continued his studies in composition and orchestration at the New England Conservatory of Music with William Thomas McKinley.

Bennett is a sound designer and composer whose work has been performed both on and off Broadway, regionally, and internationally for the last 30 years. His designs and/or original compositions for Broadway include The Coast of Utopia, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Driving Miss Daisy, The Goat, Golda’s Balcony, Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, A Streetcar Named Desire, Macbeth, and A View From The Bridge. He has composed and designed more than 150 Off-Broadway and regional productions. 

He is the recipient of a Drama Desk Award (14 nominations), two Obies (one for Sustained Excellence in Sound Design) and a Bessie Award.  Bennett is a member of Yoshiko Chuma’s School of Hard Knocks, Charles Ludlam’s/Everett Quinton’s Ridiculous Theatrical Company and Jeff Weiss’/Carlos Ricardo Martinez’s Good Medicine Company.  Additionally, he is a founding member of the Theatrical Sound Designers and Composers Association and a member of United Scenic Artists Local 829 (serving on the 829 Sound Design Subcommittee from 2014-2017). 

Bennett has been an Adjunct Professor of Sound Design at NYU since 2004 and a guest speaker in Sound Design and Music Composition for Theatre at Yale, Vassar, and the Hartt School of Music.

Teaches Fundamentals of Design I & II, Costume Design I, II & III

Erin Black has costumed such celebrities as Antonio Banderas, Justin Timberlake, Kermit the Frog and Big Bird. Her career has included costuming for theatre, television, film, and opera, as well as corporate and commercial styling work.  Erin has also worked extensively with the Jim Henson Company, where she served as costume designer for Sesame Street and the Netfilx original series Julie’s Greenroom with Julie Andrews. Erin’s work can be seen in the movie Spy Kids as well as on Broadway in The Lion King and Willy Wonka.

Erin has been awarded four daytime Emmy Awards for her work as costume designer for Sesame Street and is the recipient of the Zelma Weisfeld Award for Excellence in Costume Design. 

Erin has served as adjunct instructor, costume director, and design mentor at Tisch Drama. She has also worked with students as a lecturer at Carnegie Mellon University, the University of Texas at Austin, Marquette University, and Ithaca College, as well as serving as designer in residence at Marquette University.  Erin Black received a BA in theatre and education from Marquette University and an MFA in Costume Design and Technology from the University of Texas at Austin.

Teaches Fundamentals of Stagecraft/Lighting

Lea Marie Bosilovich is a theatrical technician and designer with a focus in Lighting. Before joining the NYU community, Lea worked primarily in NYC as a freelance Head Electrician, Spot Operator, and Set LX Specialist. Notable past production credits include Coal Country (The Public Theater / Head), Soft Power (The Public Theater / Spot + Set LX), and Shakespeare in the Park's Merry Wives (2021 / Head), Much Ado About Nothing (2019 / Spot), Coriolanus (2019 / Spot), Hercules (2019 / Spot + Lead). Lea has also worked in the event and entertainment industry, working at Samsung 837 assisting in the build and coordination of the lighting for product launches.

Teaches Fundamentals of Stagecraft/Costumes

Therese Bruck has an extensive professional career including several years as the Costume Shop Manager at the Williamstown Theater Festival, a long run as the Costume Shop Manager at Playwrights Horizons and most recently as the Costume Manager for Blue Man Group Productions.  She has worked as an assistant to Sally Ann Parsons at Parsons-Meares, Ltd on Broadway shows.  As a costume designer, she has worked with a wide range of directors from Joanne Akalitis to Matthew Broderick, and performers from Marisa Tomei, F. Murray Abraham, Sally Struthers and Gwyneth Paltrow to The Nissin Cup-of-Noodles Godzilla Monster.

Therese has taught and created costumes at both Bennington College and North Adams College as well as working at the Julliard School.  Therese Bruck has a BA in Fine Arts (Certified in Arts Education) and an MA in Speech and Theatre (Emphasis on Costume Design).

Teaches Fundamentals of Design/Lighting

Miriam Nilofa Crowe is a New York-based lighting designer for theatre, dance and live music, with an interest in devised, site-specific, and interdisciplinary performance work.  She has spent the last two decades lighting plays, rock concerts, dances, events, and the odd art installation across North America and Europe.  Some of her favorite collaborations have been with artists like The Assembly, Blessed Unrest, Parity Productions, The Collective NY, Ma-Yi, The Apothetae, Eric Nightengale, The Studio Theatre, Hanger Theatre and Triad Stage.  In the music world, she has toured extensively with Grammy-winners Lila Downs and Rosanne Cash.

Miriam’s work has been seen at venues such as Carnegie Hall (Stern Auditorium and Zankel Hall), BAM Next Wave, Lincoln Center Out of Doors, Lincoln Center Festival, Bang on a Can Marathon, St. Ann’s Warehouse, The Public, La Mama, HERE, Baryshnikov Arts Center, Apollo Theater, Cherry Lane, KKL Luzern, Barbican Center, The Fillmore, SF Jazz, New York City Center, Country Music Hall of Fame, and the Hollywood Bowl.

Miriam has worked with students as an educator, mentor and resident designer at Princeton University’s Lewis Center for the Arts, Lehman College CUNY and The Juilliard School.  She is a proud member of United Scenic Artists Local 829.  Miriam Crowe holds an MFA in Design from the Yale School of Drama and a BA in English from Yale College

Penny Daulton has served as Company Manager for the Broadway productions of Kiss Me Kate, SpongeBob SquarePants, Sunset Boulevard, Shuffle Along, Fish in the Dark, A Delicate Balance, A Raisin in the Sun, Betrayal, Lucky Guy, The Heiress, How to Succeed…, Promises, Promises, Oleanna, The Miracle Worker, HAIR (Assoc. CM), Irena’s Vow, Avenue Q, The Phantom of the Opera, A Catered Affair, Rock ‘N’ Roll, Journey’s End, Martin Short:  Fame Becomes Me, The Woman in White, La Cage aux Folles, Wonderful Town, Bobbi Boland, Man of La Mancha, and The Rocky Horror Show.  Other Company Management experience includes Eve Ensler’s Vagina Monologues (National Tour) and Necessary Targets, Company/Business Manager for the three North American companies of STOMP, Paul Rudnick’s The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told, the U.S. premier of Alan Ayckbourn’s Communicating Doors, and TAP DOGS.  She has also worked at the Metropolitan Opera House, the Martha Graham Dance Company, and American Ballet Theatre.  

Penny graduated from Smith College with Honors in Theatre and holds a Masters Degree in Public and Private Management (MPPM) from Yale University’s School of Management.  She is currently a member of the COVID-19 Theatre Think-Tank and is the President of ATPAM and is a member of its NMAM (Manager Apprentice) and Negotiating Committees.

Teaches Photoshop Workshop

Doss Freel is an environmental designer, scenic designer, creative director, and project manager with over a decade of experience in events, film, theatre, experiential, and retail. He has created original designs for regional and off-broadway productions including The Erlkings at The Beckett; Voices of Swords at the Soho Rep; The Eggs by Adam Rapp; and Chicago starring Sally Struthers at the Union Station, KC. He worked alongside the creative visual merchandising team at Tiffany & Company to design some of the most iconic window displays in New York City and across the globe. Currently you can find him at Jack Morton where he’s creating one of a kind experiences, environments, and sets. His Emmy Nominated designs can be seen on-air at CBS, TNT, ESPN, at The Super Bowl, and many others. Doss holds an MFA from NYU.

Scenic Art Fundamentals

Theresa Gonzalez has been a Scenic Artist Industrial at the Metropolitan Opera, Lincoln Center NYC since 2006. She is a member of IATSE United Scenic Artist Local 829. As a career artist working in theater, film, TV, museums, Theresa has worked with an eclectic array of  NYC-based cultural institutions for nearly 30 years.

Prior to her time at The Met Opera, highlights include being Production Scenic Assistant to Richard Hudson set designer on the original broadway production of The Lion King (Disney Theatrical), Assistant to the Lighting Designer Kevin Adams on the original workshop of Hedwig and The Angry Inch directed by Michael Mayer (Westbeth Theater), Assistant Properties Coordinator for New York City Opera at Lincoln Center NYC and Executive Production Assistant at Hudson Scenic Studios. In this role, Theresa helped execute the company's dramatic transition to Yonkers, NY in 2000. Theresa was also the recipient of a Van Lier Fellowship Artist residency at Mabou Mines for her 3 part installation work entitled "Home". 

Scenic Artist Industrial work in FIlm and TV includes Ugly Betty (ABC), Fringe (Fox) and Reservation Road (Focus Features/ Random House Films). 

As a Latina working artist parent, one of Theresa's passions is volunteering with public efforts to bring accessible theater, education and arts into the community. She served as an adult education programming assistant at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. She volunteered as a docent for the Brooklyn Museum of Art and the American Museum of Natural History. She established a weekly Free Arts in the Park program for families that aimed to connect beyond language barriers with community-focused art practice. One of her most memorable experiences was serving as a volunteer with Free Arts NYC at the Bronx Family Court arts therapy program. 

Theresa holds a BFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts '97 with an emphasis on Scenic Design and Stage Management.

Alex Hawthorn is an artist, composer, and technologist whose work flows between performance, installation, object-making, and sound-making. As a non-binary interdisciplinary artist, Hawthorn is most comfortable outside prescriptive boxes, allowing their research and intuition to shape the form and medium of their projects. They use their work as a lens through which to investigate the natural world, specifically focusing on time: how we experience it, how we have codified it, and how we exist within it.  Hawthorn’s recent research has focused on geological timescales and the shifting tectonics of Los Angeles.

Hawthorn received an MFA in Art and Technology & Composition and Experimental Sound Practices from the California Institute of the Arts and a BFA in theater from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. They have performed at sound art festivals nationally and internationally, most recently as part of the opening of the Floating Transmissions festival in Hamburg, Germany.  Hawthorn’s work in theatrical sound design has garnered them an Obie award (A Strange Loop), LA Ovation Awards, and has been heard across North and South America, Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and the Middle East.  Their work has been featured in Live Design Magazine, Stage Directions Magazine, and Performance Research Journal. Hawthorn has been a guest lecturer at Yale School of Drama and Emerson College and is currently adjunct faculty at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and special faculty at the California Institute of the Arts.  Hawthorn lives and works in New York and Los Angeles.

Teaches Drafting, AutoCAD

Chris Jaehnig,  BA - Theater and Drama, University of Wisconsin, Madison; MFA - Yale School of Drama; Certificate in AutoCAD. 

Chris is the founding director of the Production & Design Studio - begun in 1988 -  and for twenty-five years he produced the Drama Department's mainstage season of plays and musicals.  He has held various leadership positions in the Drama Department including Associate Chair, Artistic Director, Director of Production and currently is the Director of Strategic Planning.  He teaches in both the studio system (including previously at Playwrights Horizons Theater School) and in the Drama Theater Studies program.  His interests include theater architecture and the technology that supports theatrical story-telling.  Chris cares deeply about the rising generations of theater makers and has worked with children at the Harlem School of the Arts.  Currently, Chris is the resident scenographer and production manager for Dancing Dreams, a not-for-profit dance company dedicated to putting children with challenges onstage for an annual spring dance recital.  The show has over 200 children from 5-18 years old and nearly an equal number of high school helpers.  Chris has worked with Theatre Projects consultants and has consulted for several off-off-Broadway theatres.  He is a freelance production manager in New York and Brooklyn. For many years he was a freelance supervisor for Macy’s Parade Studio's Fourth of July fireworks displays and the Thanksgiving Day Parade.

His Broadway projects include The Great Gatsby, Purlie Victorious: A non-Confederate Romp through the Cotton Patch, Good Night, Oscar, August Wilson’s The Piano Lesson, Diana the Musical, Thoughts of a Colored Man, Harry Connick Jr.: A Celebration of Cole Porter, and Escape to Margaritaville, as well as the world wide management of Kinky Boots.

Andrew graduated from Brigham Young University with a BFA in Acting and holds a Masters Degree in Theatre Management and Producing from Columbia University.

Teaches Fundamentals of Painting and Drawing I & II

Orla (she/her) is an Irish costume designer recently nominated for a Lucille Lortel award for Outstanding Costume Design (Endgame, Irish Repertory Theatre). She holds an MFA in Design from Tisch NYU, a BA in Drama & French Studies from Trinity College Dublin and has worked in the leading houses of the Irish Theatre Industry both nationally and abroad. Compassionate storytelling and deep empathy centers at the heart of her practice. Orla is a proud member of the United Scenic Artists, Local USA 829.

Her pedagogy is student centric, responding to the needs of each individual to equip them with the skills to not only visually communicate with intention but to speak and critique constructively and confidently.

Teaches Digital Costume Rendering

Sharone Malka is a freelance costume maker and illustrator based in NYC. They have worked on costumes for Bob the Drag Queen and contestants on RuPaul’s Drag Race, as well as costumes for Broadway, theater, opera, and dance.

Sharone received a Creative Arts Emmy Award for their work on Season 3 of HBO’s We’re Here, as assistant to costume designer Domino.

Other credits include: crafts artisan and painter on The Tempest (Shakespeare in the Park), lead tailor on Fuente Ovejuna (Theater for a New Audience), assistant costume and set designer on Sad Boys in Harpy Land (Playwrights Horizons), and assistant costume designer on Lucy Negro Redux (Nashville Ballet).

Sharone holds a BFA in costume and scenic design from NYU. 

Teaches Excel Workshop, Computer Applications for Managers

As the Production Manager for Tisch Drama, Scott Mancha directly oversees the production process for all shows in the Tisch Drama season.  Along with the other members of the Production Resources Office, Scott acts as a consultant for all of the other Department of Drama performances in the Tisch building as well.

Scott has worked as a freelance designer across the country and has been a technical director at academic institutions since 1998. Scott was the TD for Columbia University’s Graduate Theatre Program before coming to NYU in 2017.

Andrew Moerdyk is an award-winning South African set and costume designer based in New York City.

Since October of 2020, Andrew now works as a partner of dots, a design collective based in New York City specializing in designing environments for narratives, experiences and performances.

We offer expertise in multidisciplinary practices ranging from architecture, theater and performance design, graphic design and film.

We approach every project with diversity of thought and burning curiosity and, above all, we believe in the value of the whole being greater than the sum of its individual parts.

Tiffany Nixon is Director of Archives at Roundabout Theatre Company, one of the largest not-for-profit theatres in the United States. She is on the Executive Board of SIBMAS (International Association of Libraries, Museums, Archives and Documentation Centers of the Performing Arts) and is on the Steering Committee of the American Theatre Archive Project (ATAP). She was editor of Body, Mind, Artifact: Reimagining Collections, Volume 32, 2016 from the series Performing Arts Resources published by Theatre Library Association.

Erica Rotstein is a Tony Award-winning theatre producer, talent manager, and educator. Her work is driven by a passion for music, and a desire to nurture creative collaborations built on transparency and mutual respect. Erica is a co-founder of The Business of Broadway, offering classes designed to democratize knowledge and examine the theatrical business model.

Teaches Careers in the Arts, Success After School

Shelly Sabel is a NYC-based designer and creative director, with Fuse Technical Group. Her 25-year design career spans art, fashion, theater, dance, live events, immersive experiences, and virtual production. Favorite projects involve storytelling through content and experiences that showcase emergent technologies. The ultimate goal is getting those technologies into the hands of a broader spectrum of artists. As a creative producer, she communicates clients’ visions with technology teams to create strong communities and push the boundaries of what can be accomplished.

Teaches Advanced Drafting & Model Making, Scenic Design I, II & III, and Theater 

Daniel Soule’s work spans a variety of fields, including theater, opera, film, television, fine art fabrication, and residential interiors. Recent and upcoming projects of note include Romeo et Juliette (Washington National Opera), a regional tour of Macbeth In Stride, and King Lear (Shakespeare Theatre Co).  Dan has worked internationally as Design Associate for Jan Versweyveld (CAMP: Notes on Fashion, David Bowie's Lazarus) and Es Devlin (Jimmy Fallon, Katy Perry), among others. Further, he has been involved with numerous Broadway productions, including The Crucible and Harry Potter & The Cursed Child.

Dan has served as an adjunct Instructor for Tisch Drama, and has taught graduate workshops for the Tisch Department of Design. Past academic affiliations include Villanova University, Ursinus College, St. Peter's College, and Drexel University. Prof. Soule holds an MFA from NYU's Tisch Department of Design and a BA cum laude from Dartmouth College.

Teaches Stage Management

Sloane A. L. Spencer is a producer, manager, and mentor in the theatre community, with an emphasis on facilitating the work of disenfranchised people. Having spent over two decades in the world of professional theatre, Sloane has done everything from hanging lights in storefront theaters to balancing multi-million dollar production budgets for large LORT theatre companies.

In their current role at NYU's Tisch School, Sloane teaches Intro to Theatre Production - Stage Management. They also, in collaboration with the Production Office team, oversee the production aspects of nearly 100 shows each academic year.

Kat Tharp is an NYC-based Educator, Technical Director, and Production Manager in the performing arts, and a firm believer in the transformative power of art and theater.

Kat has served as Technical Director/ Technical Advisor for: Skeleton Crew and Hold On To Me Darling at the Atlantic Theater Company, White Chip at 59E59, The Fat Lady Sings at LaMama, New York Stage and Film’s 2016 season, and two seasons with Alpine Theater Project.  Kat had the honor of serving as Production Manager for Theatre For a New Audience's (TFANA's) first two seasons in its new home at Polonsky Shakespeare Theater, including its inaugural production of Midsummer Night’s Dream, directed by Julie Taymor.  Prior to that, she served as Production Manager for Page 73, Ma-Yi, Target Margin, and the National Asian American Theater Company (NAATCO).  

Kat has served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Entertainment Technology and Drafting at New York City College of Technology (City Tech). Kat enjoys giving back to the community, and has volunteered with Free Arts, Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity, and been an advisor for a senior high workcamp assisting the Community Housing Improvement Program (CHiP) in Lincoln County, Maine.  Kat Tharp holds an MFA in Technical Design and Production from the Yale School of Drama and a BFA in Theater Arts from Boston University.

In addition to his design work, he is proud to be a queer artist with work in private collections throughout the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland and has exhibited in numerous shows at New York's Leslie-Lohman Gay and Lesbian Art Museum, the Fire Island Pines Biennial, as well as Side Tracks Gallery, and the Atlantic Gallery.

Stephanie Weeks is an award-winning actor and director. She has performed at renowned theaters including The Public, Playwrights Horizons, Soho Rep, La Jolla Playhouse among others. With Target Margin Theater she was awarded for her years of dedication, the OBIE for Recognition of Artistic Achievement and Commitment to Excellence in Theater as an Associate Artist. She is a company member of the world renowned theater company, Elevator Repair Service.

Stephanie also starred in the film "Confessionsofa Ex-Doofus-ItchyFooted-Mutha," Official Selection of the Tribeca Film Festival directed by acclaimed director Melvin Van Peebles. Television Credits include: Tales of The City starring Laura Linney on Netflix, The Good Fight (CBS) and Law & Order (NBC). She has voiced numerous audio books and is a 2023 Audie Award Award Nominee for her work on the non-fiction novel, Sex Lives of African Women by Nana Darkoa Sekyiamah. 

In her directing work, she has directed Eclipsed by Danai Gurira at University of Utah, awarded Outstanding Performance and Production Ensemble by the Kennedy Center (Festivention Series). Other productions include A Boy and His Soul by Oscar Nominated Actor Colman Domingo for the Kitchen Theater in Ithaca, Machinal by Sophie Treadwell at New York University (New Studio On Broadway) Fun Home for (New York University Mainstage) to name a few.

She holds an MFA from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco and has a certificate of study from London Academy of Music and Drama.

Stage Management I, II & III

Victoria “Vicki” Whooper (she/her/hers) is the Assistant Arts Professor in Stage Management and Head of Stage Management Training. Victoria holds an MFA in Stage Management from the Yale School of Drama and a BA in Theatre from Dominican University. 

Victoria is an educator, scholar, stage manager and arts enthusiast from Chicago, IL. Victoria’s work as both an educator and freelance stage manager centers around uplifting the voices of the global majority and reframing the ways in which we approach stage management. In addition to being an active AEA Stage Manager in the industry, Vicki has participated in various panels with The Year of the Stage Manager 2020 and The Stage Manager’s Association discussing issues of EDI in theatre industry as it pertains to Stage Managers. Vicki also held a year-long residency with the Hangar Theatre as a member of their EDI Committee assisting in the creation of new theatre policy around hiring practices, season selection, and community engagement with the large BIPOC population in Ithaca, New York.  Beginning in 2022, Victoria joined the SMMP (stage management mentorship program) cohort of USITT as a mentor to young stage managers assisting in their transition from undergrad to the professional sector.

Victoria held previous faculty appointments at The University of Miami in Miami FL and Columbia College Chicago in Chicago IL.

Teresa is a set and production designer originally from New Orleans, LA and currently based in New York City. Blending her heritage and background in architecture with a passion for storytelling, she loves creating new worlds and experiences that envelop audiences. Her design process always starts with a question: How can the story-spectator relationship be amplified? Teresa thrives in collaborative environments, creating rich, honest work with deep roots. Her hope is to design work that will connect with others on an emotional level while simultaneously providing an outlet for enjoyment. When not working, you can find Teresa catching a musical or on the search for delicious southern cuisine.

Derek Wright is a NYC-based, lighting designer and production manager.  He has designed lighting for a multiplicity of unique live productions including theatre, opera, dance, film and special events.  Derek has created designs for Baryshnikov Arts Center, Clubbed Thumb, HERE Arts, The Flea, Wolf359, The Assembly, The Juilliard School, NYTW, Cherry Lane Theatre, Slant Theare Project, PS122, NYU Tisch/Steinhardt, Repertorio Espanol, Abrons Arts, 3LD, Slightly Altered States, New Museum among many others. Teaches Fundamentals of Stagecraft/Lighting, Lighting Design I, II & III

Jeanette Oi-Suk Yew is an award-winning lighting designer for theatre, opera, dance, musical, music performances and installation. Moreover, she is a projection designer with extensive experience designing for new works and original adaptations. As a designer, Jeanette aims to create a visual environment that is organically integrated into the landscape and language of the production. Her designs are described as “clever” and “inventive” (NY Times) and that “contains the vibrant richness of a Caravaggio painted in neon”. Her designs have been seen at the Park Avenue Armory, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), Rose Theater Jazz at Lincoln Center, Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC), A.R.T./New York, Lucille Lortel Theater, HERE Arts Center, St. Ann's Warehouse, La Mama ETC, The Kitchen, ArtsEmerson, Manhattan School of Music, MOMA PS1, Joyce SOHO, Bard Music Festival, REDCAT, Highways Performance Space, and internationally at Havana (Cuba), Prague (Czech Republic), Lima (Peru), Edinburgh (Scotland), Tokyo (Japan), Graz (Austria), Shanghai (China), and Bloemfontein (South Africa). 

Jeanette’s lighting design for KPOP! won the 2017 LIT Design award in Theater Performance, and also received the 2018 nominations for Outstanding Lighting Design for the Lortel and Drama Desk. Her projection design for Relevance was also nominated for the 2018 Lortel. Additionally, she received the Bel Geddes Design Enhancement award for her lighting and projection design for Ludic Proxy and Higher Glimmer. Lastly, Jeanette is also a generative artist in devising interdisciplinary productions combining contemporary puppetry aesthetics with technology. The New York Times described her recent project, Act 4 of The Iceman Cometh, with Target Margin Lab as “consistently inventive”.

Jeanette has served as Lecturer in Lighting Design at the University of Texas at Austin Department of Theatre and Dance. She has also worked with students both as an educator and as a designer at Stony Brook University, Barnard College, Sarah Lawrence College, Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts and the School of Drama at The New School, Seoul Institute of the Arts, Parson School of Design, Kean University, New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts (NYCDA), and University of Rochester International Theatre Program. Jeanette Oi-Suk Yew holds an MFA from California Institute of the Arts and a BA from the University of Washington Phi Beta Kappa.
