General Education (or Liberal Arts) courses take our students out into the College of Arts and Science at NYU. The General Education curriculum will enable you to consider and pursue other academic interests through a double-major or minor in another subject or by following a course of study based on your own scholarly passions.

Gen Ed credit can be earned from almost any undergraduate program in the College of Arts and Science (CAS). Students must eventually complete 8 points of Science, 8 points of Humanities, and 8 additional points of Balance of Liberal Arts (Science or Humanities). See "Degree Requirements" for details about a General Education course of study.
