University-Wide Event — Powered by Love: A Community Celebration

Powered By Love Email Graphic

What does reimagining power mean to you? How can we exercise power, guided by love, in our pursuit of justice and inclusion? Join us for Powered by Love: A Community Celebration, a special gathering that not only honors Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s enduring impact but also acknowledges the work we contribute—both individually and collectively—to upholding his legacy, building a beloved community, and creating a more inclusive world.

The celebration will highlight the power of love through imagery, reflection, and a special performance by Color Kode. The event will also feature the presentation of this year’s Dr. Patricia M. Carey Changemaker Award to Elena Garcia (CAS ’25) and Ugochi Obidiegwu (Wagner ’24);, Administrator and Staff Award to Marshall Sunnes (SPS ’23);, and Humanitarian Award to Luis Belén (CAS ’98).

Come enjoy some of MLK’s favorite foods, a raffle for MLK Week swag, and reflective activities as we celebrate this year’s award recipients and honor Dr. King’s legacy.

Please RSVP—be prepared to show your confirmation email on your mobile device (or printed out) to get a ticket at the door. Tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, so please arrive early. We are excited to have you join us!
