Dimitri Kalaitzidis: Creative Process

Dimitri Kalaitzidis was born and raised in Massachusetts, USA where he began training in dance at 9 years old. He graduated cum laude from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts where he received a Bachelor of the Fine Arts with a primary focus in contemporary dance. There he performed the work of Bill T. Jones, Merce Cunningham, Seán Curran, and Pamela Pietro. Dimitri later joined the Bodhi Project at the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance where he worked Emanuel Gat, Sita Ostheimer, Mala Kline, and Iratxe Ansa and Igor Bacovich and performed both in Europe and internationally. His past training also includes intensive periods of study at The School at Jacob’s Pillow, The Juilliard School, and Summer Stages at Concord Academy.

ERIK ELIZONDO: CREATIVE PROCESS

Erik Elizondo was born and raised in Monterrey, Mexico. He begins his education of humanities, theatre and dance in the CEDART Center of Artistic Education Alfonso Reyes of The National Institute of Fine Arts. Starting dancing with the independent company Teoría de Gravedad where he worked with the Australian choreographers Gavin Webber & Grayson Millwood for the piece “Roadkill”. He moved to Mexico City where he belong part of Inside the Body Performing Arts directed by Aladino R. Blanca at the same time working in different projects as freelancer wit Francisco Córdova, Raul Martinez Anais Bouts, and Alberto Pérez. In 2013 Erik got a state grant for Young Creator that supported him as choreographer for the duets “Siddhārtha” and “Satāna”  in collaboration with Cinthya Dueñas and Jessica Huerta, and to realise to a residence with the company KIM Kosmos in Movement directed by Elias Cohen performing in the piece “Yuyo y Pezkalle” at the festival Dansalborde in Valparaiso. Graduated from SEAD Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance in 2017 with focus in contemporary dance performance working as performer with the choreographers Theo Clinkard, Paul Blackman, Milla Koistinen, Eduardo Torroja, Manuel Ronda and Francisco Córdova. Recently Erik collaborated with Joao Cidade for the  piece While The Others Go Wild performed at Acker Stadt Palast in Berlin.

Annique Roberts: Contemporary/West African

Annique Roberts of Atlanta, Georgia trained at Tri-Cities High School for the Visual and Performing Arts, the Junior Division Summer Intensive Program at the Ailey School and at Jacob’s Pillow.  She graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Dance from Howard University under the direction of Dr. Sherrill Berryman-Johnson.  In 2004 she joined Garth Fagan Dance and became senior dancer in 2006.  She also taught at the Garth Fagan Dance School and was featured in the August 2008 issue of Dance Magazine.  Annique joined Ron K. Brown’s EVIDENCE in January 2010 and was nominated for a 2013 New York Dance and Performance Award (Bessie) and was featured in TimeOut NY Magazine.

TARAMARIE PERRI: YOGA

Tara Marie Perri: Educator/Holistic Health Practitioner; Founder/Director, The Perri Institute for Mind and Body and Mind Body Dancer®. M.F.A. Dance, New York University; B.A., Visual Arts History, College of the Holy Cross, MA. Faculty, NYU Tisch School of the Arts, Steps on Broadway, and Namaste New York in New York City. Guest teaching engagements at Harvard University, University of Iowa, DeSales University, Vassar College, College of the Holy Cross, Goldsmiths and Queen Mary Universities in London, among others. Past faculty positions include Joffrey Ballet School, Dance New Amsterdam, and American Dance Festival.

Perri is founder and director of The Perri Institute for Mind and Body, an international community of educators, researchers, and holistic health practitioners based in New York City and Upstate NY.  She has implemented and customized Yoga, yoga therapy, and mind/body wellness curriculum/programs in commercial studios, gyms, performing arts schools, and higher education environments. Perri has been consulted for her expertise and her writing has been published in periodicals such as Dance Teacher Magazine, Elle, Women’s Health, Dance Informa, Dance and Pointe Magazines. She writes regularly for MindBodyBrew.

Perri performed professionally with ballet, contemporary, and dance theater companies in NY, PA, and MA. Her choreography and costume designs have been critically acclaimed in The New Yorker and The Village Voice, among other publications. Concurrent with her work in the arts, education, and research, Perri was Senior Account Manager at Siemens Healthcare Services where she developed her passion for healthcare (1998 – 2006).

Perri enjoys the balance of city and country living with homes in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and Callicoon, NY.  She maintains private practices in NYC, Brooklyn, and Upstate NY. Perri’s private practice honors the ancient tradition of one-to-one study and integrates Yoga, yoga therapy, movement therapy, meditation, Ayurveda, holistic medicine, Reiki, Alchemy Energetics, and healing arts. Perri continues to deepen two decades of study under the one-to-one tutelage of her own beloved circle of teachers and colleagues in a variety of disciplines thus exploring an ongoing integration of Eastern and Western healing arts and sciences.

Jacob Storer: Composition

Jacob Storer attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and graduated from PARTS in Brussels, Belgium where he worked with various artists amongst many disciplines as part of the 3-year training. He collaborates with Libby Farr in a continuous research project investigating a more Somatic-based approach to ballet and is also developing his own work under the name Amphigory in collaboration with Theo Livesey. Jacob joined Trisha Brown Dance Company in 2017.
