COME AND CHAT WITH STEPHANIE TROYAK, 2015 TISCH DANCE GRADUATE AND YOUNGEST MEMBER IN HISTORY TO JOIN TANZTHEATER WUPPERTAL PINA BAUSH

Originally from Ontario, Canada, Stephanie later moved to the United States and trained at the Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. She then graduated with a BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. While in NY, she worked and created with Gallim Dance. She joined the Batsheva Ensemble in 2015, and performed work by Ohad Naharin, Sharon Eval, and Danielle Agami. She most recently joined the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch company in 2017, under the direction of Adolphe Binder, and will be the youngest member in history to join the company. 

Stephanie is also a certified gaga teacher, and continues to teach, perform and create work across the globe. For her choreography she was named a 2012 YoungArts Winner in Dance and Presidential Scholar in the Arts semi-finalist. She was also named a winner for the Young Choreographers Festival in NY in 2014. Her most recent work premiered in Batsheva Dancers Create DOMAIN in 2016. She has taught internationally for companies, summer intensives and schools including Batsheva, Staatstheater Mainz, NYU and more.
