Leah joins MIAP with a Masters in Folklore and Cultural Anthropology from UC Berkeley. An Alan Dundes Graduate Fellow, her research focused on the relationship between nationalist media, cultural heritage and diaspora. A student member of AMIA, she has presented her work at the Society for the Society for Cinema and Media Studies and is deeply passionate about the preservation of at-risk history. Leah has previously interned for BAVC Media assisting with their Preservation Access Program, and she has worked with Canyon Cinema in San Francisco. Her passion is community archiving and she has worked closest with the Bay Area Lesbian Archives of Oakland, California. Leah is currently training as an assistant archival producer and researcher for documentary filmmaking, and she is interested in strengthening relationships between amateur and small collections and non-fiction cinema.
