APEX Rio 2018 is a collaboration between NYU's Moving Image Archiving and Preservation (MIAP) Program and four institutions in the cities of Rio de Janeiro and Niterói, Brazil:
- the Archive of the City of Rio (Arquivo Geral da Cidade do Rio de Janeiro)
- the Ministry of Culture's Audiovisual (Archive Centro Técnico do Audiovisual - CATV)
- the Cinemateque of the Museum of Modern Art (Cinemateca do Museu de Arte Moderna - MAM)
- Federal Fluminense University (Universidad Federal Fluminense - UFF).
NYU MIAP students, graduates, and faculty participating in the 2018 Audiovisual Preservation Exchange (APEX) worked with colleagues at the host institutions to advance audiovisual archival and preservation projects. They also offered public presentations and workshops on the preservation of magnetic, digital, and analog film media, and other topics.
Follow APEX's Facebook, Twitter, and Instragram feeds (as well as #ApexRio2018) to learn more about projects and activities during APEX Rio 2018.
