Hannah Franklin, New Museum, Fall 2017

As a digital preservation intern at the New Museum Archive, I was responsible for verifying exhibition records metadata that would populate the newly launched New Museum Digital Archive. The Digital Archive is a public-facing site managed by CollectiveAccess and is meant as a research tool for those interested in contemporary art. Verification sources included exhibition checklists, brochures, press releases, and floor plans. One of my responsibilities was to scan and upload these primary sources to the Digital Archive for public access. Making the New Museum Digital Archive a reliable source for research and scholarship is an ongoing project, as the museum's collection continues to grow.
