Lauded filmmaker Iva Radivojević joins us for the 15th annual Experimental Lecture, co-hosted by UGFTV and Cinema Studies. This lecture will take us on a nomadic trip - where time and space are subjective phenomena. We will be guided through Radivojević's genre-defying collection of films, and gather their numerous wandering protagonists. All the while we will be writing a prose poem. The protagonists will assemble together to journey forward into a brand new film, guided by Specter, who will narrate our thoughts and dreams. The event will include a special screening of her newest film When The Phone Rang (2024), which received the Special Mention Award at the 77th Locarno Film Festival.

Iva Radivojević is an artist and filmmaker who currently divides her time between Athens and Lesbos. Iva's films have screened at the New York Film Festival, Locarno IFF, New Directors/New Films, Rotterdam IFF, Berwick Film & Media Arts Festival, Jeonju IFF, Museum of Modern Art (NYC), Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art. She is the recipient of the Sundance Art of Non-Fiction Fellowship, Guggenheim Fellowship, Jerome, NYFA and Princess Grace Film Fellowship. Her book Avenue of The Living, was published by Big Black Mountain Press, while her recent short story “When The Phone Rang” was published by red herring press in the UK. She’s a PhD candidate at Villa Arson in Nice.

This is an in-person event, open to the public. Prior registration is required. Non-NYU attendees will receive emailed instructions for building access and may be asked to present a government-issued photo ID upon arrival. NYU attendees must present their NYU ID.
