Stacey Marbrey
M.A. Arts Politics Class of 2026
B.A. School of Cinema, San Francisco State University
Stacey Marbrey is a filmmaker, curator, and cultural strategist who works where art sparks advocacy and builds community. Her producing credits include Drylongso and Lick the Star, both in the Criterion Collection, and her film UNSPOKEN was honored by the Black Filmmakers Hall of Fame for its cultural impact.
Her career spans from film sets to leading cultural diplomacy initiatives with the President’s Committee on the Arts and Humanities, the American Film Institute, UNESCO, and the Sundance Institute. These programs, designed to connect artists across borders and amplify underrepresented voices, earned national recognition, including the International Engagement Award presented in the White House Rose Garden.
As Program Producer for Film at Lincoln Center’s Artists and Critics Academies, Stacey curates panels, mentorships, and professional development opportunities that prepare emerging creatives to navigate and influence the evolving film and media landscape.
Now pursuing her MA in Art & Public Policy at NYU Tisch, she is deepening her exploration of how visual storytelling can shift cultural narratives, inform policy conversations, and create spaces for belonging and justice—guided by her belief in the power of story to inspire connection, amplify voices, and drive meaningful change.
What drew you to the M.A. in Arts Politics?
Arts Politics is exactly where my work lives. This program will sharpen my storytelling to influence policy, advance advocacy, and reshape cultural narratives.
