APP ' 22 Bairton Warburton Brown is pushing the boundaries of cultural production by having directed a web series that premiered today. "Naomi & Levi Take On The World" premieres at 9:00 PM CST on Open Television.

"Naomi & Levi Take On The World" is an intersectional web series that satirizes the naive optimism of romantic comedies by approaching them from the view of everyone's "favorite" comedic trope: the funny gay/Black friends. Feeling hopeless after dreadful dating experiences, Naomi and Levi take their lackluster love lives in new directions when their friend, Tammy, starts living out a rom-com fantasy. While Naomi goes on a journey to create her perfect match, Levi decides to air out their grievances with modern dating with a podcast.

Open Television is a non-profit platform for intersectional series, pilots, and video art, supporting Chicago artists in producing and exhibiting indie media, film, and TV. To watch the whole series, as well as stream Bair's post-screening Deep Focus Q&A at the SoHo House, sign up for Open Television here.

NLTOTW was created and produced by Kyle Hinton (Vaguely Hayes), directed by Bair Warburton Brown (From Your Former Lover), and it stars Cat Christmas (Chicago Fire) as Naomi, and Keimon Shook (From Your Former Lover) as Levi.
