In January 2017, MA Arts Politics travled to Puerto Rico for a class entitled "The Cultural Imperative: Intersections in Cultural Equity, Cultural Arts & Public Policy". As part of the course, the students carried out two mural projects. The first was in collaboration with Artist Edgardo Larregui. The students painted a mural with the words "juntos creamos" (together we create). Each person then added an expression in a different language, as a message to the people in Puerto Rico. The second mural was made through a day long workshop organized by Abey Charron and painted on the side of a building that is being refurbished so that a local housing organization can offer apartments and rehabilitation to people in need.
