Art & Public Policy Chair Organizes Interdependence Walk

Tuesday, Jul 16, 2019

Chair Kathy Engel was part of a core group of organizers responsible for the second annual Walk for Interdependence in Sag Harbor, NY on July 14, 2019. The walk sought to highlight issues related family separation, including asylum seekers at the southern U.S. border, recent missing indigenous women, and incarcerated mothers - primarily black mothers and mothers of color.

Kathy said of the event, “I believe this is the best of humanity, when we get together and say, ‘If you’re in trouble, I’m in trouble and I stand with you."
