Professor Anna Deavere Smith's most recent work, Notes from the Field, which played to critical acclaim at the Second Stage Theater in NYC in 2016, is being adapted for HBO. The show will feature dramatizations of the accounts of the students, administrators, parents and other figures caught within the school-to-prison pipeline. Smith herself embodies these people in the stage production.
