Kareem Khubchandani: DIVAS, DRAG QUEENS, AUNTIES, & OTHER ACADEMIC PERSONAS
Join us for a talk by Kareem Khubchandani exploring how queer scholars of color navigate and self-fashion within the academy, where the body is often obscured in favor of the mind. Drawing on his work on queer South Asian nightlife, global drag, and representations of the aunty, he reflects on the intersections of research, teaching, and performance. Khubchandani is the author of Decolonize Drag, Ishtyle: Accenting Gay Indian Nightlife and is Associate Professor at Tufts University.
Hosted by XE Faculty Fellow Alisha Cherian. Co-sponsored by the Center for the Study of Gender and Sexuality, the Asian/Pacific/American Institute, and the Tisch Department of Art & Public Policy. RSVP is required. Please RSVP here.
