THE ART LAW SOCIETY AT NYU LAW PRESENTS:

GOVERNMENT CENSORSHIP & THE FIRST AMENDMENT: NEA v. Finley in Review

Please join the Art Law Society at NYU Law for a discussion with Professor Karen Finley and Professor David Cole considering the implications of the Supreme Court case NEA v. Finley (1998) on government censorship of art and First Amendment rights today. We are thrilled to be joined by two key figures in the case:  Karen Finley, artist, activist, and professor at NYU Tisch, whose performance work “We Keep Our Victims Ready” was at issue in the suit; and David Cole, professor at Georgetown Law and former National Legal Director of the ACLU, who argued the case before the Supreme Court.

This event is open to NYU students only. Light refreshments will be provided.

March 2nd, 6pm in the Vanderbilt Hall, Rm. 204. RSVP Here.
